The Bolding Lab is interested in developing noninvasive technology through which we can interact with the brain by controlling and recording neural activity in a highly precise manner for the purpose of advancing our basic understanding of the brain as well as improving treatment options for a wide variety of neurological and psychological disorders.

As the director of the two primary research MRI facilities at UAB, Mark Bolding is best known for his MR physics expertise, and we collaborate with dozens of investigators on MRI projects. However, the Bolding Lab also works with ultrasound, x-rays, behavior, and cellular and molecular techniques.
